Does Pagecity use Unix or NT servers?
We use Unix servers running Linux RedHat, the most common and robust platform used on the Internet. We do not currently offer Windows based hosting accounts.
 
What is shared (or virtual) web hosting?
Shared hosting is purchasing part of rather then a whole server, it offers a cost effective solution to managing your website. With a shared hosting account you receive space on a server, connection to the Internet, and software tools for you to build and maintain your website.
 
What do I get with my Pagecity account?
When you order an account through Pagecity, you receive the disk space and data transfer necessary for your site to be accessed on the World Wide Web. Additionally, you will receive a control panel that enables you to manage all the features associated with your account. How much disk space do I get for my site?

Do you support FrontPage?
YES! If you use Microsoft FrontPage 97, 98, 2000, 2002 or 2003 to publish pages, you will need FrontPage extensions installed. We support all versions of FrontPage extensions which can be easily installed through your control panel.
 
Do you offer security for transferring credit card information?
YES! By using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology, your customers can safely order your products or services online! You DO NOT have to buy a security certificate to enable the secure server - you can use ours FREE of charge.
 
How much data transfer do you allow for my website?

What is the control panel?
Each account comes with a web-based control panel to manage all the features associated with your hosting account. Please visit the demo page to see account specific control panels.
 
Do I register my domain name or will Pagecity do that for me?
A domain name is your address on the World Wide Web. To be accessed from anywhere in the world, a domain name must be registered with an ICANN accredited registrar. If you already have a domain name, there is no additional cost to use that domain name with Pagecity. If you need a domain name you can purchase one through the Pagecity order form for a one-time fee of $14.95. We'll handle the entire registration and domain name management process for you. Use our Domain Search to check the availability of the domain name you want.
 
How do I transfer my site to Pagecity's servers?
1. | Place your order and receive your welcome letter. |
2. | Use your control panel to upload or configure your website and create your email addresses. |
3. | Change your DNS as indicated in your welcome letter. |
